Palm oil based cooking oil is the cheapest type of vegetable oil, making it a staple for consumers in developing nations across Asia, Africa and the middle East. Oil palm is an indigent of West Africa (Kiple and Ornelas 2014) where it adapts favourably to most local West African country soils.
